My stay at The Shores At Lake Travis was a mix of pros and cons. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. However, the condition of the unit I stayed in was disappointing, with outdated furniture and cleanliness issues that I had to address myself. While the location near the lake was great for outdoor activities, I was left wishing for better-maintained accommodations.

Rooms
6.0
The unit was quite run down, with outdated furniture and a carpet that felt dirty. Though the bathrooms seemed somewhat updated, I had to sanitize many areas upon arrival.
Service
7.0
I found the staff to be very accommodating and friendly, but at times they seemed overwhelmed. However, I did appreciate their responsiveness, particularly from Glen in maintenance.
Location
8.0
The location was beautiful and quiet, perfect for relaxation and close to outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. Being near family nearby was a real plus.
Dining
7.0
Although I didn’t dine out much during my stay, I appreciated the kitchen amenities in the unit for meal preparation.
Facilities
5.0
While the resort offered some decent facilities like a game room and laundry, the overall upkeep was not up to par. This could use serious attention.

6.4/10

I had a mixed experience at The Shores At Lake Travis. I loved the quiet environment and the chance to interact with the friendly deer, which made for a unique getaway. However, the condition of the unit was disappointing, with dirty carpets and outdated furnishings needing serious attention. The staff was friendly and responsive, but I left feeling significantly unsettled about the overall cleanliness and upkeep.

Rooms
5.0
The room was spacious, but the cleanliness left much to be desired. I found the carpeting filthy and the kitchen counters scratched. Despite the retro charm, I felt uncomfortable in the unit due to the outdated decor and maintenance shortcomings.
Service
7.0
The staff was helpful and welcoming, with specific members like Ferrah going out of her way to ensure I felt taken care of. Unfortunately, their efforts couldn't fully overcome the issues present in the accommodations.
Location
6.0
While the resort is situated in a serene and quiet location near Lake Travis, getting to downtown Austin took quite a while due to country roads. It’s decent for those wanting to escape but not for those seeking easily accessible attractions.
Dining
7.0
I appreciated the nearby grocery store access, which made meal preparation straightforward during my stay. It was straightforward to grab supplies for a home-cooked meal.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities offered some solid options like a game room and outdoor activities, but the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel were lacking. The rusty outdoor amenities could really use an update.

5.8/10

I just wrapped up a week at The Shores At Lake Travis and found it had its ups and downs. The spacious rooms gave me plenty of comfort, but the dated decor and some cleanliness issues took away from the experience. I loved the quiet atmosphere and the unique wildlife interactions, especially with the deer, but accessibility to amenities was a bit of a hassle since I had to drive quite a distance for food and groceries.

Rooms
6.0
The two-bedroom unit I stayed in was really spacious, which was great for my family. However, I can't deny it looked pretty old and could seriously use a remodel. Some cleanliness issues like dirty carpets and worn countertops were disappointing, too. I had to bring my own cookware because the kitchen supplies were pretty subpar, but the WiFi worked well, which was a bonus.
Service
7.0
The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Ferrah, who really went out of her way to make sure I felt at home. While I did have some issues during my stay, the maintenance team was quick to respond and resolve them.
Location
5.0
Although the place is tucked away in a quiet suburban area, it's quite a trek to find restaurants or grocery stores, which can be a pain if you're not prepared. Driving those winding roads takes time, so I suggest bringing your own food.
Dining
5.0
Dining options nearby were pretty limited. I wished there were better food choices closer, but I managed with what I brought. I wouldn't count on eating out much unless you're willing to drive.
Facilities
6.0
The resort had basic amenities and a game room, which was cool for family bonding, but it definitely felt like it needed some serious updates. The pool was nice, but some facilities, like the bathroom near the pool, were not accessible during my stay, which was kind of frustrating.

6.0/10

My stay at The Shores At Lake Travis met many of my needs, particularly with its spacious accommodations and convenient parking for my boat. However, the hotel does show signs of age and in some areas, cleanliness could be improved. The presence of friendly deer added a unique charm to the experience, but I did encounter maintenance issues that detracted from the overall comfort.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were spacious and updated, but the mattress was too firm for my liking. I noticed some wear in the kitchen and dirt in the carpet. Also, the bathroom could use some upgrading as well.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and responsive to my needs, addressing any issues promptly and making me feel welcome.
Location
6.0
While the location is tranquil and near Lake Travis, it felt somewhat remote and required longer drives for dining and activities. Still, access to boat launch ramps nearby was a definite plus.
Dining
7.0
Grocery stores were within reach, making it easy to prepare meals during my stay. I appreciated the ability to make my own food instead of relying solely on restaurants.
Facilities
7.0
The on-site pool was a nice addition, although I found the lock on the gate could be more reliable. I also enjoyed having a game room for some casual fun.

My stay at The Shores At Lake Travis was a blend of fun and frustration. The location was fantastic for accessing the lake and enjoying some wildlife interactions. However, I found the furnishings outdated and less comfortable for my family. Overall, I had a great time, but there are definitely areas needing improvement.

Rooms

The unit was spacious enough for our family and very clean. However, the furnishings were quite dated and uncomfortable, especially the beds. I wished for better seating arrangements.
Service

The staff were friendly and helpful. They resolved several issues promptly, which I appreciated, but some things like the pool bathroom accessibility need addressing.
Location

The proximity to the lake was amazing, just a short walk away. I loved seeing the deer, which was a unique touch, though the area felt a bit remote at times.
Dining

The kitchen amenities were useful for preparing meals. but the cookware needed an upgrade as many pots were scratched and unusable.
Facilities
5.0
The game room was a highlight for my family. However, I was disappointed by the locked bathroom by the pool, which was inconvenient during our stay.
